Last year was the first time I offered Christmas Tree Mini Sessions. I absolutely loved doing them and they are back on the calendar this year. To my surprise I had several families who wanted to do a full-length session at a Christmas Tree farm. I was THRILLED. Picking out a Christmas Tree at a farm is my favorite holiday tradition and I jumped at the opportunity to capture another family's memories at one of these magical locations.
You might be thinking to yourself, a Christmas Tree Farm for a photo session? Is that cheesy? Will the images feel too seasonal to put on my walls? My response would be not necessarily. Talk to your photographer about what you want. Do you want all the images to feel super Christmasy? Let them know that! Do you want to mix it up? Have some of the images scream CHRISTMAS but also have a few traditional images that look great on your wall all year. That is what we went for with this family. This session took place at Hunter's Family Farm in Milton, GA and it was perfect. The farm is huge and there are many areas to shoot in that don't have Christmas Trees. I also think it helped that this family went with a neutral palette with their wardrobe.
In my next blog post, I am going to highlight a family that went in the other direction with their session. From the outfits to the props, they wanted their session to be 100% all about Chritmas.
Need more images to help you decide if you want to do a session at one of our local Christmas Tree Farms (I know of three in the Alpharetta area)? Check out the board I created on Pinterest.
